Pengaruh kenaikan densitas liquid ke tekanan atau pressure yg dicapai pompa centrifugal

Pengaruh kenaikan densitas liquid ke tekanan/pressure yg dicapai pompa centrifugal (in contrast with recipro -PD pump-don't care viskositas).
Note : utk case sebaliknya misal densitas turun, tidak akan ada masalah yg berarti.

bisa dilihat di formula head = pressure / densitas

jadi jika densitas meningkat yg terjadi tekanan yg dicapai pompa naik lihat ref gambar, jika power motor tersedia (resiko terbaca high ampere di control room, lama kelamaan high winding temp=shutdown)

perhatikan design pressure di downstream/discharge piping apa bisa menerima pressure tsb.

Solusi

1. Check ke process engineer utk kalkulasi ulang atau gunakan hysis, cek required pressure jadi berapa di destination dgn kenaikan densitas tadi.
Jika tidak signifikan cukup stop sampai disini.

2. Jika tersedia VFD (biasanya utk multi density liquid) Speed turunkan agar didapat head yg lebih rendah=pressure lebih rendah

3. Jika tidak ada VFD dan discharge pre
ssure benar-benar harus presisi, maka bisa dengan solusi ganti impeller pompa diameter yg lebih kecil (menurunkan head di flowrate sama)

Faktor lain yg berubah krn dipengaruhi densitas adalah:
•Nss (suction specific speed)
•NPSH
•Power sudah pasti, hubungan densitas dan Power = rho * g * h * Q
